What does it mean?

Besides psychodynamic methods

(psychoanalysis, depth psychology), cognitive behavioural therapy belongs to the three scientifically recognised methods of therapy, which costs are covered by the German health insurances.

Cognitive behavioural therapy centrally deals with the question of individual life and learning history behind the problematic behaviours that have been experienced. Every behaviour of an individual has sense, even if this sense is not being recognised at first. The point of collective psychotherapeutic work is learning to understand the background of an individuals emotions, thoughts and actions. Furthermore, it is essential to discover and restore resources and capabilities to actively and successfully solve problems.
